Subprocessors and Transfers

This page summarizes the main service providers Captain Frugal expects to use to operate the app, website, beta support, subscriptions, and AI/OCR features. It supports the Privacy Policy and may change as the product changes.

Current service providers

• Google: app and website infrastructure, authentication, storage, Android distribution, support and beta email workflows, security operations, and optional consent-based website analytics.
• Apple: Apple account authentication, iOS beta or App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and platform account services where selected or required.
• OpenAI: AI-assisted receipt OCR and optional AI receipt category suggestions where the relevant feature is enabled.

AI/OCR provider limits

AI-assisted receipt scanning may process receipt images, PDFs, extracted text, merchant details, totals, dates, categories, and line items. Optional AI receipt category suggestions are off by default and are intended to send only normalized item text, optional normalized merchant text, and existing household category names. AI category suggestions should not create new categories or make final financial decisions without user review.

International transfers

Some providers may process personal data outside your country or outside the European Economic Area. Where required, Captain Frugal relies on appropriate transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, provider data processing terms, or platform transfer mechanisms.

Data processing agreements

Captain Frugal is currently designed as a consumer and household finance app, not as a business processor service. If a business customer, partner, or enterprise integration needs a data processing agreement, contact support before using the service for that purpose.

Updates

This page may be updated when providers are added, removed, renamed, or used for a new purpose. Material provider changes should be reviewed against the Privacy Policy, app-store declarations, and internal data-flow records before release.
